Meet Our Team
Born in New Jersey, Gary made Port Angeles his permanent home in 1971 after being stationed here in the US Coast Guard. Gary started Hi-Tech in 1982 upon completing the electronics program at Peninsula College and has guided the company to steady growth over the last 23 years. His firm belief in customer service and maintaining a broad base of expertise has served the company well. Hobbies include fishing, party poker, and working on his family’s new home on the east side of Port Angeles. Gary’s wife Diana owns a popular local nursery, The Greenhouse, and son Nick is a sophomore at Port Angeles High School. Born and raised in Forks, Mike moved to the Port Angeles area in 1975. He and Gary became friends at Peninsula College while both were completing the electronics program in 1981-1982. Joining Hi-Tech a few short months after the company was formed, Mike is proud to have been a member of the Hi-Tech family for over 23 years. His organizational skills have been a key component in the success of the company. Interests include snow skiing, bicycling and traveling with his life mate Rosslynn in their motor home. Clark has been with us for 17 years after a 20-year career in the Coast Guard. Clark spent many years in our repair department before joining our satellite install team. He loves his job, enjoys meeting people and it shows. While planning his retirement, he continues to be a respected and irreplaceable member of our team. Clark enjoys camping, reading, playing with his dog; Beulah, and spending time with is wife Sandra in their Port Angeles home. A local girl from Port Angeles, Kim has been in charge of the accounting department of Hi-Tech for 17 years. Her skill at managing the ever-changing requirements of a growing business has proven to be invaluable during her career at Hi-Tech. Kim’s interests include being involved with her husband’s car racing, camping and spending time with family. Kim lives in Port Angeles with her husband, Gary, son Gavin, and dogs Katie, Lucy and Molly. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Judy has been a valued team member for over ten years. Judy works in customer service, sales and excels in organizing our growing shipping/receiving department. Interest includes hiking, camping, sewing, fishing, hunting, travel, gardening and animals. Judy has 2 daughters, Marti and Brandee, 1 son, David, 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. A highly appreciated 8-year employee, Ryan specializes in the installation of security systems, fire alarm systems, home theater setups, and audio systems. As one of our licensed low voltage electricians, Ryan supervises many of our projects from prewire to completion. His favorite pastimes include reading, video games, and being involved with his kids sports teams. Ryan lives in Port Angeles with his wife, Tanya and their kids, Josh, Bryce, Bree and Danielle. With his 10 years experience in electronics retail, we considered ourselves fortunate when Field joined our sales staff 4 years ago. His comprehensive knowledge of consumer electronics makes him our “go to” guy for technical questions and advice. With his easygoing manner, he makes your shopping experience with us a learning experience rather than a pressured sales pitch. Interests include snow and water skiing, running, remodeling his house and spending time with his wife, Gena and their 1-year-old daughter, Vail. Joe brings his degree in business and experience in retail to enhance our sales department and also guide our advertising section. His low-pressure sales approach coupled with product familiarity make for a comfortable sales experience in our showroom. Joe has been with us for 5 years and is a highly valued member of our team. Joe’s hobbies include golf, baseball, travel and spending time with his fiancée, Kim. Hired 2 years ago as a satellite installer, Nick brings his past install experience from owning his own satellite business in Oklahoma. Nick is an important member of our staff, always ready to help any way he can whether installing, deliveries, sales, or training as an apprentice low voltage electrician. Nicks interests include soccer, backpacking, rock climbing and spending time with his wife, Michelle and daughters, Destini, and Nicole. The newest addition to our sales staff, Cody brings his past sales experience combined with a cheerful personality. His interest in electronics combined with his musical talent (he is a skillful guitarist and keyboard player) provides an excellent fit with our business. Cody was born and raised in Port Angeles and interests include music, remote control airplanes and military history. |
